Reconciliation WA are pleased to announce that Water Corporation will partner as a Moombaki (Gold) Partner with Reconciliation WA to deliver the 2024 ReconciliACTION Forum on Friday, 11 October.
Like many other industries, the water sector is undergoing rapid transformation across Western Australia. This shift creates new opportunities for Indigenous participation in the sector. Employment and procurement opportunities will ensure that Aboriginal businesses and employees are part of an essential pathway toward reconciliation. It supports economic empowerment, fosters meaningful partnerships, and recognises the cultural and environmental knowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait communities possess.
‘We are proud to partner with Reconciliation WA in support of this important forum,’ said Carolyn Davis, Program Director of Aboriginal Employment, Strategy and Reconciliation.
‘The partnership allows us to publicly communicate our commitment to reconciliation, collaborate with organisations to enhance our collective capacity and work together towards achieving meaningful impact.’
The ReconciliACTION Forum aims to create a supportive and interactive environment where participants can explore this year’s themes, including pipelines and pathways to employment, naming, dual naming, co-naming, and renaming, truth-telling and archival histories, addressing racism in the workplace, innovations and procurement, addressing cultural load in the workplace, and Best Practice RAP Working Groups. Most importantly it focuses on ACTION – and continuing to drive meaningful change and impact.
Through keynote addresses, discussions and hands-on workshops, attendees will share experiences and develop actionable strategies to foster reconciliation across industries and communities.
Participants will also have the opportunity to connect and network during a sundowner event at the forum’s conclusion.
Water Corporation’s Moombaki Partnership is complemented by the support of our Worl Partners, Landgate and Horizon Power, whose contributions help make this event possible.
